In the trees, a flickering light,
And the shadows danced in the cold twilight
The laughter grew as the people relaxed
The Pied Piper played and planned his attack

The meal was gone and the dancing began
The Pied Piper thought about his plan
The jester grinned but his eyes were dark
The years of war had left their mark

So the slaughter began, and the dancers ran
Into the blades of the pipers swords
In the dark of the night, lit by strange firelight
The pipers men earned their rewards

The pipers job was done
The army was gone

In Hamyln town the elders told their lies
And the piper fixed them with his steely eyes
He took out his flute and he played along
The rats of Hamyln all sung the song

The madness took effect, the piper played for his debt
The dancing rats were out of control
Chased through the streets like pieces of meat
The sound of the flute led them on
The tune picked up pace and in that awful place
They killed everyone
The Piper laid down his flute and still resolute
Took his money and was gone.
